About Me

Hi, I’m Deepthi Rao, a Full stack web developer from California with experience in developing responsive web applications. I’ve passion for learning and a desire to keep up with the latest technology trends. In my free time you can find playing video game, painting or walking.
From my previous experience, I learnt to look for solutions even when it was difficult to debug. I began to feel slowed down in the hardware industry and this made me look into the world of software development. I was curious to understand how the web works which made the engineer in me learn and look for solutions.
Given an opportunity, I would bring my strong technical knowledge, enthusiasm to learn and strategic approach to achieve tasks.

Budget Planner

Budget Planner is a financial planning feature that allows users to track their income and expenditures, and manage their budget(s) built using ReactJS. Worked closely with UX designer to design and launch this new fearure for a existing app in a 2-week sprint.

MyFlix is a client side application built using ReactJS for its existing server-side code. MyFlix app is a responsive app that displays a list of movies for registered users. Users are allowed to view the movie details, director info, genre info, favorite a movies and search movie by title.

Pokedex

A Pokédex responsive web app developed using HTML, CSS and Javascript. The app fetches Pokémon data from external API and displays a list of Pokémon. The list is searchable by name. On click of pokemon, modal is displayed with Pokémon sprites, height and type.

MeetUp

MeetUp app is a serverless, progressive web application(PWA) built with ReactJS using TDD(Test driven development) approach. The application uses the Google Calendar API to fetch upcoming events and displays a list of upcoming events. Users can filter events by city, specify the number of events to display, show/hide event details, and app offline feature is available.

Chat App

Chat App is a mobile application built using React Native. Chat app will provide users with a chat interface built using Gifted Chat api. The users can set the background color, share images and their location. Firestore has been used to store data.
